My daughter, Aashka Singh, is the inspiration behind the establishment of this institution. She is a young adult now on the autism spectrum and has Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) as an underlying condition. This complex syndrome has contributed to multiple challenges, with autism being one of them.

When Aashka was diagnosed, I was introduced to a wide range of therapies to support her physical development, speech, cognition, learning, social skills, and more. I spent entire days taking her from one therapy session to another, yet it still felt insufficient. As a step toward inclusion and socialisation, she began preschool, but this lasted less than three years. After that phase, I found it challenging to identify a special school that could meet all therapeutic needs under one roof. There is a severe shortage of centres that deliver quality therapies in adequate, well-designed and spacious facilities.

Meanwhile, I admitted Aashka to a residential school whose model was well suited to her needs. I realised that parents like me often find their lives turned upside down, overwhelmed by stress and haunted by the question of “what after us?” These families needed not just support for their children, but also respite and the right to live a life with dignity and balance.

This became a turning point for me and my family —to seek something more meaningful, engaging, and comprehensive.. To gain deeper insight, we visited several such institutions across India, studied their approaches, and identified the best practices among them. Drawing from these experiences, and after discussions with many experts in the field, we established the Fateh Autism Village near Chandigarh.

In the years ahead, I envision active parental involvement in this initiative, as parents are the true stakeholders in securing a safe and sustainable future for our children.

Almighty's message to the community, especially to the parents, is that while the challenge is great, together we will achieve Fateh for our loved ones. Let's join hands and build a better tomorrow!!
